Monday 24th September
Jason Van Genderen (pictured second from left) along with Shane Emmett,
Brian Dyer and John Roy swept the major awards at Geelong 24 Hours Shoot Out
Film Festival and made history by not only submitting two entries, their
winning film 'CARRION" didn't even utilise a video camera.
'CARRION' – a 2.5 minute short film was shot entirely on an Olympus digital
stills camera. The dark, experimental film follows the story of a murdered
man traversing a dystopic world, bereft of time and reason.
Shot in the alleyways and streets of Geelong, the film was actually the
second in-camera film to be made by the crew in 24 hours, who managed to
also produce the top 10 comedy 'Hoodie' - a fractured fairytale based on
Little Red Riding Hood and featuring narration by Rodney Rude and Rove
McManus.
The Central Coast crew collected 3 awards in total: “Best Sound Design” for
Hoodie, “Best Cinematography” and “Best Film” for CARRION.
Well done guys!

Project identity
The project started off with the client’s idea for the photography – Kelly’s Beach in
full moonlight. Extensive retouching was necessary to perfect the illusion and
contrast. Next the logo device was created to set the mood for ‘DUNE’, which
imitates ripples in the sand. This led to the brochure’s finishes of gold foiling and
embossing to complement the logo design and overall project branding. The final step
of the project was to produce a discounted ‘early bird’ VIP gift card for the launch
night of DUNE, complete with personalised names.

Legend Has It...
Plunge searched for a name that would encapsulate the target market’s desire for
communication as well as the essence of what backpacking is all about.
Insight from travel-blog entries revealed that backpackers think of themselves as
independent individuals with unique travel stories that are worth telling.
“Legend has it” — the place where your travel stories, adventures and love affairs begin in Australia,
New Zealand or Fiji.
As well as brochure and signage material, current executions have included the logo adaptations
for each of the “Legend has it…”-properties (customer communications), for industry communication
and visionary affairs.

Rockpool
Rockpool is a prestige residential development near Bundaberg in Queensland.
Our work included project branding and design of the presentation brochure.
Our brief was to capture the essence of the unique coastal location and the quality of the finished apartments.
The brochure was printed on a pearlescent paper stock to tie-in with the wave/water motif and picked up an award
in the 2007 Australian National Print Awards.
